Exclusive: 56 Days Cast Interviews with Dove Cameron, Avan Jogia, Karla Souza, and Dorian Missick
Streaming globally on Prime Video on February 18 is 56 Days, based on Catherine Ryan Howard's best-selling novel and starring Dove Cameron, Avan Jogia, Karla Souza, and Dorian Missick.
Produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Atomic Monster, the series was written by Lisa Zwerling and Karyn Usher.
56 Days follows Oliver (Jogia) and Ciara (Cameron), who, after meeting randomly in a supermarket, fall for each other fast, and dangerously hard. Fifty-six days later, homicide investigators arrive at Oliver’s apartment to find an unidentified body—brutally murdered and intentionally decomposed. Did he kill her? Did she kill him? Intercutting between an intense single day in the present investigation and the twisted trajectory of the young lovers’ affair in the past, the series is both a unique crime story and a riveting, sexy, psychological thriller.
Executive Produced by Lisa Zwerling, Karyn Usher, James Wan, Michael Clear, Rob Hackett, Danielle Bozzone, and Sandrine Gros d’Aillon.
An Emmy-winning actress and platinum recording artist, Cameron most recently starred opposite Keegan-Michael Key and Cecily Strong in Apple TV+’s acclaimed musical comedy series Schmigadoon!, also appearing in Mel Brooks’ History of the World: Part II. Previously, she’s been seen starring in B.J. Novak’s directorial debut, Vengeance, and Disney’s Descendants film franchise, among other projects.
Next to be seen starring opposite Krysten Ritter in the upcoming AMC spin-off series Orphan Black: Echoes, Jogia’s past series credits include Gregg Araki’s Now Apocalypse for Starz, Veena Sud’s The Stranger for Quibi, and Tut opposite Sir Ben Kingsley for Spike TV, to name a few. Recent feature credits for the actor include Choose Love, Door Mouse, which marked his feature directorial debut, and Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City.
Missick will play Karl. Disorganized and in the midst of a horny midlife crisis, Karl Connelly’s life appears to be a chaotic mess. But despite his reckless habits and short-fused temper, he is a gifted detective and unflinchingly honest and loyal to the people he cares about.
Missick was last seen starring in Netflix’s Shirley, opposite Regina King, Lance Reddick, and Terrence Howard. He was also seen in Amazon MGM Studio’s The Burial opposite Jamie Foxx and Tommy Lee Jones. His recent television credits include a series regular on CBS All Access’s anthology series Tell Me A Story; Marvel’s Luke Cage; the lead opposite Brandy in BET’s comedy series Zoe Ever After, NBC’s drama The Cape and Six Degrees and For Life for ABC.
Souza portrays Lee Reardon is a dedicated, experienced Boston homicide detective who, despite many flaws in the system, is a deep believer in justice. But she’s harboring a dark secret that challenges everything she stands for and threatens to destroy the most important relationship in her life.
Souza is perhaps best known for her role opposite Viola Davis in ABC’s How To Get Away With Murder. She received two International Emmy Awards for producing and starring in Dive (aka La Caida) for Prime Video. She was also seen co-starring as Marina on ABC’s Home Economics and starring opposite Jaime Foxx in Day Shift, for Netflix.
