Exclusive: Alana Haim and Mamoudou Athie talk The Drama and their chemistry as a on-screen couple
Hitting theaters on April 3 from A24 is the dark romantic comedy The Drama, written and directed by Norwegian indie filmmaker Kristoffer Borgli and starring Zendaya as Emma Harwood, a bookstore clerk from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Charlie's fiancée; Robert Pattinson as Charlie Thompson, a museum director from London, England, and Emma's fiancé. Also featuring Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, and Hailey Gates.

Haim and Athie play married couple Rachel and Mike in the film. Mike is also Charlie’s best friend.
Known for her music, Haim was previously nominated for four Grammys for her work alongside older sisters Este and Danielle as part of the lauded pop rock band Haim. Alana also gained numerous major nominations for her breakout film role in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza opposite Cooper Hoffman. More recently, she was featured in Anderson’s hit Warner Bros. pic One Battle After Another, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.
Most recently seen starring in Yorgos Lanthimos’s Kinds of Kindness, Athie’s other recent credits include Prime Video’s The Burial, Jurassic World Dominion, and animated features Elemental and The Boy and the Heron. He also starred in the Netflix pic Uncorked.
