Exclusive: Chris Pratt, Edwin Hodge talk Amazon’s sci-fi action thriller ‘The Tomorrow War’

Coming out this week from Amazon Studios is the sci-fi action packed thriller “The Tomorrow War” starring Chris Pratt, Yvonne Strahovski, J.K. Simmons, Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson, Edwin Hodge, Jasmine Mathews, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, and Keith Powers. Amazon Studios will exclusively release THE TOMORROW WAR globally on Prime Video July 2nd, 2021

Directed by Chris McKay from a script written by Zach Dean, the film was produced by David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Jules Daly, David Goyer, and Adam Kolbrenner.

In The Tomorrow War, the world is stunned when a group of time travelers arrive from the year 2051 to deliver an urgent message: Thirty years in the future mankind is losing a global war against a deadly alien species. The only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to be transported to the future and join the fight. Among those recruited is high school teacher and family man Dan Forester (Chris Pratt). Determined to save the world for his young daughter, Dan teams up with a brilliant scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) and his estranged father (J.K. Simmons) in a desperate quest to rewrite the fate of the planet.

For Pratt, who’s action and sci-fi films have included the Jurassic World, and its sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Marvel films (Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame), this is another end-of-the-world film, but it somewhat has a different meaning since the Coronavirus pandemic put things into a real perspective. Hodge is best known for his work in the Purge horror movie franchise and starring on History’s drama series Six. He also appeared in Bumblebee and on FX’s Mayans M.C.

BlackFilmandTV.com’s Wilson Morales spoke with Pratt and Hodge on what the pandemic has done to them in terms of the films they want to make and the traveling they want to do.
