Exclusive: Cory Hardrict talks new film ‘Die Like A Man’
Currently on an exclusive limited Los Angeles theatrical run from April 18th-April 24th at the celebrated film venue, the Secret Movie Club is the indie film Die Like A Man, written and directed by Eric Nazarian and starring Miguel Angel Garcia, Cory Hardrict, Mariel Molino, Berenice Molina Valle, Cesar Garcia, Peter Mark Vasquez and Frankie Loyal. The film will hit Apple TV from Gravitas Ventures on April 25.
The film centers on Freddy, who on his 17th birthday, is given a Magnum .44, a few bullets, and orders to take out his mentor's rival, a rehabilitated gangster. Will he succeed or "die like a man" with a gun in his hand?
Produced by Confluential Films, Voyagers Pictures, Mucho Mas Media, 222 Pictures and Showdown Productions. The film's producers are Tommy Oliver, Eric Nazarian, Cory Hardrict, Javier Chapa, and Sean Burke. Rodrigo Garcia, Kirstin Winkler, Theo Dumont, Steven Adams and John Ierardi proudly serve as executive producers.
Hardrict portrays a recently paroled west side gangster who after serving a decade behind bars, he returns to his old west LA neighborhood, now gentrified and redeveloped. All His friends are dead and moved on and his only anchor is training his best friend’s son in the ill-fated codes of masculinity on the street that lead to devastating consequences.
Hardrict was last seen in Tyler Perry’s Divorce In The Black, which is streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video. His notable film credits include Clint Eastwood’s American Sniper and Gran Torino as well as Battle Los Angeles, Netflix’s Brotherly Love, and Rod Lurie’s The Outpost, which he also executive produced. On the small screen, he had a regular role in The CW’s All American: Homecoming, a spinoff series from All American. He was also recurring in Showtime’s The Chi.
Blackfilmandtv.com’s Wilson Morales spoke with Hardrict on his role in Die Like A Man and also serving as an executive producer.
