Exclusive: Crystal Renee Hayslett talks Tyler Perry's Zatima and starring in her own show

Currently playing on BET+ is “Tyler Perry's Zatima,” the spinoff series from “Sistas” and follows popular characters Zac (Devale Ellis) and Fatima (Crystal Renee Hayslett) as they navigate the ups and downs of their relationship.

In Sistas, Fatima works as an assistant at a law company and Zac is an ex-convict trying to rebuild his life when they met. As they grew closer, Zac and Fatima decided to take it to the next level.

In “Tyler Perry’s Zatima,” audiences will be introduced to where the couple's relationship stands now that they’ve decided to make it official.

Hayslett was first introduced as Fatima in 2019 as a recurring guest star and has since been elevated to series regular on Sistas. Prior to joining the cast she served as a costume designer on a number of titles including Boo! A Madea Halloween and its sequel; Too Close to Home, The Paynes and A Madea Family Funeral. She made her acting debut in Matthew Cherry’s short film This Time in 2011.

Blackfilmandtv.com’s Wilson Morales spoke with Hayslett on the spinoff series and her starring role.
