Exclusive: Devale and Khadeen Ellis talk new podcast Ellis Ever After & producing Broadway's Othello
Premiering Wednesday April 16th and after 15 seasons of their incredibly successful podcast Dead Ass with Khadeen and Devale, which has SOLD OUT shows in every major city, and featured episodes with high-profile guest stars the likes of former President Joe Biden, Regina Hall, Sherri Shepherd, and Sterling K. Brown, among others, the college-sweethearts turned entertainment powerhouses Devale and Khadeen Ellis are relaunching the podcast with a new look, format, and name, “Ellis Ever After.”
Ellis Ever After will bring what fans of Dead Ass with Khadeen and Devale appreciate about how these two people are willing to tell the hard truths about the state of the world and current events, with a sense of love, life, laughter and levity. Devale and Khadeen will explore pressing topics each week with deeper conversations, bigger celebrity guests, and an all new hosting format that will engage audiences during each week’s episode with the inclusion of permanent guest hosts from the original Dead Ass team- Tribble, Josh Dwain and Matt Ellis.
Outside of the podcast, Devale and Khadeen are co-producers for the Broadway production of Othello, starring Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal, which just broke the record for top-grossing play in Broadway history. Devale starred as the lead in the #1 Netflix movie Meet Me Next Christmas alongside Christina Milian and the acapella group, Pentatonix. On the TV side, Devale currently stars in his very own #1 BET+ spinoff,Zatima, and Tyler Perry’s Sistas on BET.
As an actress, Khadeen has appeared on Tyler Perry’s BRUH, Will Packer’s BIGGER, with more television projects premiering in 2025. Together, they co-authored the New York Times bestselling relationship book, We Over Me: The Counterintuitive Approach to Getting Everything You Want from Your Relationship, and created The Ellises social sitcom on YouTube and Facebook. They have been married for 14 years and have four sons: Jackson, Kairo, Kaz and Dakota.
