Exclusive: Jack Dylan Grazer and Zach Galifianakis talk animated comedy Ron's Gone Wrong

Coming out this week in theaters from 20th Century Studios’ and Locksmith Animation is “Ron’s Gone Wrong,” featuring the voices of Zach Galifianakis, Jack Dylan Grazer, Olivia Colman, Ed Helms, Justice Smith, Rob Delaney, Kylie Cantrall, Ricardo Hurtado, Marcus Scribner, and Thomas Barbusca

“Ron’s Gone Wrong” is the story of Barney, a socially awkward middle-schooler and Ron, his new walking, talking, digitally-connected device, which is supposed to be his “Best Friend out of the Box.” Ron’s hilarious malfunctions set against the backdrop of the social media age, launch them into an action-packed journey in which boy and robot come to terms with the wonderful messiness of true friendship. “Ron’s Gone Wrong”

The film is directed by Sarah Smith and Jean-Philippe Vine with Octavio E. Rodriguez co-directing. The script is written by Peter Baynham & Smith. Julie Lockhart and Lara Breay produce, with Locksmith chairman Elisabeth Murdoch, Smith and Baynham serving as executive producers. 

No stranger to the animation world, Galifianakis has starred in animated films, including Puss in Boots, The Lego Batman Movie and Missing Link. He’s also done voice for animated series such as Bob's Burgers, The Simpsons, and Big Mouth.

Best known for his roles as Eddie Kaspbrak in the 2017 and 2019 film adaptations of the Stephen King novel It, and as d Freddy Freeman in the 2019 DC Extended Universe film Shazam! and its 2023 sequel, Grazer had the lead roles Luca Guadagnino's coming-of-age drama television series We Are Who We Are for HBO and in the thriller film Don't Tell a Soul, both in 2020. He recently voiced Alberto in the 2021 Disney-Pixar film Luca.
