Exclusive: London Brown talks Marvin Thomas' death on Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 5
We knew it was coming. After Marvin Thomas gave his nephew Kanan Stark the ultimate beatdown in Episode 5 of the fifth and final season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan after learning Kanan killed his brother Lou-Lou, the audience sensed that Marvin’s days were numbered. Knowing that Kanan would go on to appear in the mother series Power as an adult, it was a question of which episode Marvin would go down and how. Well, the time has come.
In Episode 7 of Season 5 "Penultimate Means Second to Last" - London gave one hell of a performance as Marvin that will always be remembered. Sensing the end was near as his and Raq’s allies have either died and walked away, he settled his affairs with his daughter Jukebox before his death came at the hands of Kanan.
For actor London Brown, he was given the best scenes, best lines of his career thus far. Along with Jerome from FX’s Snowfall, Marvin will go down as one of the best “Unc” in the gangster game. He was a loyal soldier to the streets and a caring brother and father. He will never be forgotten.
