Exclusive: Nathalie Emmanuel, Simu Liu and Ali Suliman talk Arthur The King

Hitting theaters on March 15 from Lionsgate is Arthur The King, directed by Simon Cellan Jones and starring Mark Wahlberg, Simu LiuJuliet RylanceNathalie EmmanuelAli Suliman, with Bear Grylls as Himself, and Paul Guilfoyle.

Over the course of ten days and 435 miles, an unbreakable bond is forged between pro adventure racer Michael Light (Mark Wahlberg) and a scrappy street dog companion he dubbed Arthur. Based on an incredible true story, Arthur the King follows Light, desperate for one last chance to win, as he convinces a sponsor to back him and a team of athletes (Simu Liu, Nathalie Emmanuel, Ali Suliman) for the Adventure Racing World Championship in the Dominican Republic. As the team is pushed to their extreme limits of endurance in the race, Arthur redefines what victory, loyalty and friendship truly mean.

The screenplay is written by Michael Brandt, based on the book "Arthur: The Dog who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home" written by Mikael Lindnord. It's produced by Mark Canton, Courtney Solomon, Tessa Tooley, and Tucker Tooley.

Best known for her role as Missandei in the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones, Emmanuel gained further recognition for her supporting roles in Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015) and its sequel Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018), the Fast & Furious films Furious 7 (2015), The Fate of the Furious (2017), F9 (2021) and Fast X (2023). She will next be seen in Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis.

Liu was recently opposite Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in the Oscar nominated film Barbie. He previously starred in Marvel’s Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Liu also starred in the popular CBC series Kim’s Convenience. He will next be seen opposite Jennifer Lopez in Atlas.

Suliman was seen opposite John Krasinski in the first season of Prime Video’s Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan. He previously starred in the 2005 Palestinian film, Paradise Now, which won the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film and was nominated for an Academy Award in the same category. With Arthur The King, he reunites with Wahlberg, whom he worked with when they starred in Lone Survivor.
