Hitting theaters on Sept. 11 is the long awaited sequel Practical Magic 2, some 28 years since the first movie.opened in October 1998. The original stars Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Stockard Channng and Dianne Wiest are all back again. Directed by Susanne Bier, the new cast includes Joey King and Maisie Williams as Sally's daughters, with Lee Pace, Xolo Maridueña, & Solly McLeod.
The screenplay is written by Akiva Goldsman and Georgia Pritchett. Adapted from "The Book of Magic" written by Alice Hoffman. Produced by Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Denise Di Novi.
Set 25 years after the events of the first movie, the story follows the Owens family as they face a new crisis when a discovery regarding the family's history & the origins of their magic comes to light. When Sally's daughter (Joey King) begins to uncover hidden family secrets & develops her own dark abilities, they are plunged into a multi-generational struggle to finally break the curse that has haunted their lineage for centuries. The Owens women (Sally, Gillian, and their aunts) must once again unite, traveling from their home in Massachusetts to the UK to confront the source of their magic and save the next generation of their family.
