Exclusive: Project Hail Mary interviews with Ryan Gosling, Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Drew Goddard & Andy Weir by Bianca Velasquez
Hitting theaters worldwide starting March 20th, 2026 from Amazon MGM Studios + Warner Bros is the sci-fi film 'Project Hail Mary,' directed by Phil Lord & Chris Miller and starring Ryan Gosling as an astronaut who tries to save Earth while alone in outer space.
The film co-stars Sandra Hüller as Eva Stratt, Ryland's superior, and Milana Vayntrub as Olesya Ilyukhina, his former Russian crewmate.
Based on Andy Weir's novel of the same name first published in 2021, the film stars Ryan Gosling as astronaut Ryland Grace, who wakes up on a spacecraft at Tau Ceti with no memory of himself or his mission. He deduces he is the sole survivor of a crew sent to the Tau Ceti solar system in search of a solution to a catastrophic event on Earth. In his search for answers, Grace must rely on his vast array of scientific knowledge, sheer ingenuity, and human will – but he may not have to search alone.
The screenplay is written by Drew Goddard (of Cloverfield, The Cabin in the Woods, World War Z, The Martian, Bad Times at the El Royale) with Andy Weir. It's produced by Ryan Gosling, Rachel O'Connor, Amy Pascal, Aditya Sood, Andy Weir, and Lord/Miller.
