Exclusive: Quincy Brown talks playing Crown on Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 2

Very recently, Blackfilmandtv.com correspondent Ebbony “Miss2Bees” Pinillos had a conversation with Quincy Brown regarding his role as Crown Camacho on ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan.’

Set in the early 1990’s, the third series in the “Power” Universe tells the origin story of fan favorite character, “Kanan Stark,” and follows his coming of age in South Jamaica, Queens. Raised by a single mother, who ruthlessly runs the family’s emerging criminal empire, Kanan charts out a path through some of the city’s most volatile streets while, at the same time, navigating his way through adolescence, which has its own dangers and pitfalls. 

“Raising Kanan” stars MeKai Curtis in the titular role of “Kanan” and Tony® Awards winner Patina Miller (“Madam Secretary,” The Hunger Games Franchise) as his mother, Raquel “Raq” Thomas.

Crown is a producer at the emerging record label that with he runs with Raq’s Lou. In recent events, Crown has been a bit assertive in the handling of the business, which troubles Lou. Not only was Crown sleeping with Lou’s now ex-girlfriend, but he wants Lou out of his business and wants Raq’s help in accomplishing this task.

As son of former model Kim Porter and singer, songwriter and record producer Al B. Sure! and step son to Diddy, Brown’s previous TV credits including a main role as Derek Jones in Lee Daniels’ Star series, and a recurring role on Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots.
