Exclusive: Shirley interviews with Regina King, Terrence Howard, Reina King, Christina Jackson & Lucas Hedges

Currently playing on Netflix is the Shirley, Written and directed by Oscar winner John Ridley (12 Years a Slave) and starring Oscar winner Regina King.

Shirley tracks the dynamic presidential campaign in 1972 run by America's first Black congresswoman, Shirley Chisholm. Based on her life story rights through an exclusive agreement with the Chisholm Estate, the film offers an intimate, behind-the-scenes portrait of one of the most ground-breaking political leaders of our time during a seminal period in modern American history.

Joining King in the film are Lance Reddick, Lucas Hedges, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Christina Jackson, Michael Cherrie, Dorian Crossmond Missick, Amirah Vann, W. Earl Brown, Brad James, Reina King with André Holland and Terrence Howard

Howard plays Arthur Hardwick Jr., Reina King is Shirley’s sister, Muriel St. Hill, Christina Jackson is Barbara Lee, and Lucas Hedges plays attorney Robert Gottlieb.

Ridley is producing alongside Anikah McLaren and Elizabeth Haggard for Participant, and Regina King and Reina King for Royal Ties Productions. Jeff Skoll and Ted Gidlow are exec producing. No information on the roles to be played by the latest additions to the cast has been disclosed.
