Hitting theaters in New York and Los Angeles October 10 and Expanding October 17 from Amazon MGM Studios is director Luca Guadagnino’s psychological thriller After The Hunt, starring Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri, Andrew Garfield, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Chloë Sevigny.
"Not everything is supposed to make you comfortable." AFTER THE HUNT is a gripping psychological drama about a college professor (Julia Roberts) who finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a star student (Ayo Edebiri) levels an accusation against one of her colleagues (Andrew Garfield), and a dark secret from her own past threatens to come into the light.
Roberts was last seen in the Netflix thriller Leave the World Behind, which was directed by Sam Esmail and also starred Mahershala Ali and Ethan Hawke. She earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for her role in the first season of the streaming series Homecoming, and portrayed Martha Mitchell in the Starz political limited series Gaslit (2022). She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of the title role in the biographical drama Erin Brockovich.
Edebiri is best known for starring opposite Jeremy Allen White in FX’s acclaimed comedy The Bear, which she plays sous-chef Sydney in the Christopher Storer series set in Chicago’s culinary world. Her performance on the show has netted her a Golden Globe Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and a Primetime Emmy Award, as well as a nomination for a Directors Guild of America Award for directing the episode "Napkins". Earlier in 2025, she starred in Mark Anthony Green’s directorial debut, the thriller Opus.
Garfield was last seen in A24’s We Live In Time opposite Florence Pugh. Garfield’s recent credits include FX’s Under the Banner of Heaven, which landed him his first Emmy nomination, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tick, Tick… Boom!, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Searchlight’s The Eyes of Tammy Faye.
Stuhlbarg is best known for his role in the Coen Brothers’ A Serious Man, which earned him a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actor in a Motion Picture. Other film credits include Luca Guadagnino’s Call Me By Your Name, Guillermo Del Toro’s The Shape of Water, Miss Sloane with Jessica Chastain, Marvel’s Doctor Strange, and more.
