Exclusive: Lex Scott Davis, Iantha Richardson, Candace Maxwell, and Jasmine Ashanti To Star in Podcast Series ‘While We…’
Blackfilmandtv.com has exclusively learned that Lex Scott Davis (Suits: L.A.), Iantha Richardson (Will Trent), Candace Maxwell (All The Queen’s Men), and Jasmine Ashanti (Hacks) will star in the Podcast Series ‘While We…’ with a featured appearance by Camille Winbush (The Bernie Mac Show).
While We… is a six-episode visual podcast where intimate, layered conversations unfold while Black women engage in curated, hands-on experiences—from mocktail making to candle crafting, skincare rituals, and soundbaths.
Created by Maurice Dukes through Siddewalk Productions, in collaboration with Sharifa Daniels of Blex Media, While We… centers emotional storytelling paired with intentional experiences led by Black women entrepreneurs, including:
Itika Oldwine (Oldvine Florals) – Floral Design
Alexis Roberts (Roberts Hospitality) – Mocktail Hosting
Denai Blackshire (By.JSB) – Skincare & Candle Making
Milan Zoe (MyMelanin Plus) – Soundbath & Wellness
Sage Causie – Visual Storytelling through Photography
“We created While We… to honor the in-between moments—the ones where you’re processing, creating, crying, or just existing with people who truly see you,” said co-creator and executive producer Maurice Dukes. “It’s a love letter to soft Black womanhood.”
Filmed in Los Angeles, the series was built with intention both on and off camera. From development to final shot, the production crew was 99% Black women—reaching 100% on the final day.
While We… is directed by Eboni Price and shot by Sika Stanton, with production by Sharifa Daniels, Maurice Dukes, Dot McDonald, and Chiesa Dukes.
