Lamar Richardson joins ‘The Fabulous Four’ producing team

Lamar Richardson, who was nominated for a Tony Award this year as a Co-Producer of New York, New York, has joined the producing team as a "Co-Producer" of The Fabulous Four, a SAG-waiver approved feature starring Bette Midler, Susan Sarandon, Megan Mullally, and Sheryl Lee Ralph. The film is scheduled to be distributed theatrically in 2024.

Written and directed by Jocelyn Moorhouse, the Cannes prize-winner best known for her Kate Winslet pic The Dressmaker, the film follows three life-long friends (Sarandon, Mullally, and Ralph) who travel to Key West, Florida to be bridesmaids in a surprise wedding of their college girlfriend Marilyn (Midler). His current show on Broadway as a Co-Producer is Merrily We Roll Along starring Daniel Radcliffe, Jonathan Groff, and Lindsay Mendez and recently joined the producing team of the upcoming The Wiz revival starring Deborah Cox and Wayne Brady.

As an award-winning actor, Phylicia Rashad directed Richardson in his regional stage debut as Sylvester in August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom in 2016 at the Mark Taper Forum starring Lillias White, Glynn Turman, Keith David, Jason Dirden, and others. The play received Best Ensemble awards at the LA Drama Critics Circle Awards and the LA Stage Alliance Ovation Awards.
