Producer Kharmony Fortune’s Short Film FAME FARM To Premiere at ABFF’s 30th Anniversary In AI x XR Showcase

Among the short films that will have its World Premiere at the 2026 American Black Film Festival (ABFF) is Fame Farm, written, directed and edited by WhoInGodsName in his directorial debut. Produced by Kharmony Fortune, the film is a thought-provoking short film that dives into the dark underbelly of the quest for online stardom. This captivating AI project will screen at the American Black Film Festival (ABFF) on March 30th at 1:30 PM at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Screening Room 1 as part of the 30th-anniversary celebration.

Set in a near-future society, Fame Farm explores the impact of a shadowy conglomerate, Egocorp, which has turned the pursuit of fame into a structured enterprise. Once an experimental initiative featuring human "original influencers," VirtuCity has transformed into an exclusive sanctuary for social media elites, where lives are meticulously streamed for an adoring global audience through the omnipresent Oogle search engine.

The story follows Auris, a young protagonist who believes she is an ordinary human navigating the alluring world of Virtu City. Unbeknownst to her, she is part of Egocorp's sinister scheme in its second phase, where many residents are "Influents," genetically modified individuals designed for viral appeal and mass monetization. As Auris begins to notice subtle glitches in her perfect world, she embarks on a quest to find the truth, aided by her allies. Meanwhile, families outside Virtu City continue to push their children into the influencer race, oblivious to the hidden dangers and dark secrets of the city’s allure.

Fame Farm masterfully combines gripping visuals with cutting-edge technology to reflect on the consequences of a society that has traded genuine human connections for the empty promises of viral fame. The film engages audiences in a timely conversation about identity, authenticity, and the cost of chasing social media notoriety.
