Shawdog Entertainment to screen Jacquin Deleon’s Short ‘I Love This Arrangement’ at 2026 Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival
Shawdog Entertainment has announced that their new romantic comedy, ‘I Love This Arrangement,’ was officially selected to feature at the 24th annual Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival (MVAAFF 2026). This year’s edition will take place from Aug. 7-15 at the Martha’s Vineyard Performing Arts Center in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts.
Directed by Jacquin Deleon, the film stars Nick Alexander, Efrangeliz Medina and Orlando Leyba.
The film kicks off the summer with exclusive screenings in Los Angeles (July 27th) and New York (July 30th), which is where this love story was filmed.
To avoid deportation, an aspiring Haitian chef enters a fraudulent marriage with a passionate Dominican woman drowning in financial hardship. But as lies pile up and pressure mounts, the fragile arrangement spins into dangerous territory—where love, survival, and betrayal collide, and the dream of freedom could become their undoing. What starts as a calculated arrangement soon tests their hearts, forcing them to choose between survival and the possibility of a love neither of them planned for.
August 9th marks the official MVAAFF premiere date of the thought provoking film produced by Shawdog Entertainment, in collaboration with Hidden Root Productions. The poignant story of finding love in unexpected places, portrayed by co-stars Alexander and Medina, cast and produced by the legendary Natasha Ward, has all the makings of a classic romantic comedy that will be talked about for generations to come.
Jacquin Deleon is a filmmaker whose festival-recognized work spans shorts and features. His film “NAMELESS'', premiered at the Urban World Film Festival, San Francisco Black Film Festival winning the Jury Award winner) among others. His short projects such as “Bushbaby”, “Junior”, have screened and won at TIDE Film festival, Black Star Film Festival and Ryan Murphy's Half-Cast festival. His films “A Girl Like Grace”, and “aTypical Wednesdays” both received theatrical distribution.
Martel TZ Shaw is an actor, producer and filmmaker from Pacoima, CA; He is currently touring film festival circuits for films ‘CPA’ and ‘I Love This Arrangement’. He is also in pre-production, filming a short series titled ‘40’ this August, in which he both produces and stars in. Shaw’s latest film, “Never Alone for Christmas: Memphis” premiered in 2025 on BET+.
