Trailer To Samora Smallwood’s Rom-Com Mini Series ‘Coming Home’
Hold One Entertainment has released the trailer to Coming Home, a rom-com mini series that will debut on Bell Fibe’s streaming channel TV1 on August 28th.
Samora Smallwood stars and makes her directorial debut in the show, which is billed as an adult coming-of-age story “that explores the humorous and poignant realities of returning to one’s roots while striving to build a future in the art.” Inspired by Smallwood’s personal experiences, it will explore the spaces between her small hometown and Hollywood.
The 4 x 20-minute series is produced for Bell Fibe TV1 by Smallwood’s Toronto-based prodco Hold One Entertainment.
The cast includes Samora Smallwood, Kevin Hanchard (Hudson & Rex, Ginny & Georgia), Karen LeBlanc (Lovecraft Country, Ginny & Georgia, Departure), Tommy James Murphy (Last Resort), Paula Brancati (Degrassi, Slasher), Susan Coyne, and Naomi Snieckus.
Coming Home follows Sam Smalls, a former actor-turned-mega influencer whose seemingly perfect life in Los Angeles unravels in a single viral moment. Set against the charming backdrop of Grimsby's suburban streets and familiar faces, Coming Homes explores what it means to start over in the age of curated perfection. It's a story of ego, heartbreak, healing and the unexpected places we find ourselves when we finally stop performing. Through humor, heart, and a touch of chaos, Sam's journey reminds us that sometimes rock bottom is exactly where the real story begins.
Smallwood won a Canadian Screen Award for her role in Lifetime telemovie Death She Wrote and is currently appearing in Hallmark Channel’s The Way Home. Recent roles have include Apple TV+ shows The Big Cigar and Circuit Breakers and OWN’s soap The Kings of Napa, and she is co-starring in another TV1 show, Disrepair opposite Matthew Sauvé and Tommy James Murphy. She has also appeared in Star Trek: Discovery, Good Witch and Murdoch Mysteries among other credits.
