Amazon Prime Video’s Crime-Drama “Gravesend” adds Shaquita Smith to Season 3 as Recurring
Currently streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video, Shaquita Smith (Wicked City) has been added heavily on Amazon Gravesend series for Season 3 as “Charlene”. Gravesend is a drama series that follows Benny Zerletta, a soldier in the Colezzo crime family in 1980s Brooklyn. The series features a cast of actors known for their roles in mafia movies and shows, such as Chazz Palminteri, Vincent Pastore, and Sofia Milos.
Smith portrays Charlene, Gaetano (Christopher Mormando) love interest who he falls in love with. Cast has included Fran Drescher (The Nanny, Hotel Transylvania), Martin Kove (The Karate Kid, Cobra Kai), Mario Cantone (Sex and the City, All My Life), William Forsythe (Raising Arizona, Boardwalk Empire), Andrew Dice Clay (A Star is Born, Blue Jasmine), and Sofia Milos (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Friends).
The series—created by actor, producer, and director, William DeMeo— set in 1986 follows the events surrounding DeMeo’s Benny Zerletta, a member of the Colezzo crime family in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Gravesend. In season 1, he is torn between following the good life inculcated in him by his devout Catholic parents and a life of crime. He is disowned when he picks the latter as the series dives into the complicated and dangerous life he has chosen.
Smith, known for her breakout role as Jordan in AllBlk’s supernatural drama series Wicked City, recently starred in the BET+ rom-com, My Valentine Crush. She has also also guest-starred in television series including New Amsterdam, NCIS: New Orleans, Hap & Leonard, Homicide Hunter and Survivor’s Remorse, among others.
