Season 2 Of UMC’s 5th Ward Begins On July 30. Mya Harrison, Carl Payne, Omar Gooding Co-Star

Premiering on Urban Movie Channel on July 30th is the second season of 5th Ward, created by Greg Carter and produced by Dominique Telson. 5th Ward is a contemporary take on Carter’s 1998 film of the same name.

New episodes of 5th Ward premiere weekly on Thursdays through September 3rd after which both Seasons 1 & 2 will be available to watch at any time in their entirety.

The cast of the new season includes Gary Sturgis as Odell "Blue Davis, Carl Payne as Kendrick Davis , Mya Harrison as Mina Kennedy, Omar Gooding as Robert Kennedy, and Reginald Dorsey as Chief Lewis

Life in Houston's FIFTH WARD is seen through the eyes of some of its residents including single mom, MINA KENNEDY, her sons and the local politicians.

As Blue and Mina await the birth of their first child together, the lovers are haunted by ghosts and relationships from their checkered pasts. Mina’s brother-in-law, Police Commander Robert Kennedy, is trying to mentally recover from the events of a failed operation that left his partner in a coma. Now under investigation by internal affairs, he turns to friend Councilman Kendrick Davis in a search for answers to solve the mysterious criminal world of the 5th Ward.
