Exclusive: Anita-Joy Uwajeh and Charles Babalola talk Fightland Season 1 Finale & Cece and Zeek's Rise To Power
Recently aired on Starz is the Season One finale to “Fightland,” executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson through his G-Unit Film & Television.
The 8-episode series stars Howard Charles as Maduka “Duke” Kilroy, a disgraced former heavyweight champion returning to London after an eight-year prison sentence following his brother's death. Duke targets his former promoter and criminal kingpin Kingsley Marshall (Nicholas Pinnock), seeking vengeance for an alleged setup and betrayal.
The cast also includes Deborah Ayorinde as Joy Marshall, Anita-Joy Uwajeh as Cebella “Cece” Marshall, Charles Babalola as Ezekiel “Zeek” Marshall, Tahirah Sharif as Kim Harper, Tyler Conti as Justin “Jay” Hall and Richard Pepple as Gary “Gazzer” Kilroy.
In the season one finale, Kingsley confronts his children, Zeek (Charles Babalola) and Cece (Anita-Joy Uwajeh), for trying to cut ties and going behind his back. Zeek pulls a gun on his father, but Cece steps in, seemingly to calm things down. She takes the gun from Zeek and unexpectedly shoots Kingsley twice, leaving him to bleed out in the gym. Cece immediately goes into clean-up mode and pins the murder on Kingsley's wife, Joy.
