Exclusive: Huma Qureshi talks action thriller Baby Do Die Do
Currently playing on Netflix is the Indian Hindi-language action thriller film Baby Do Die Do, directed by Nachiket Samant that stars Huma Qureshi as a deaf and nonverbal contract killer.
Produced by Saleem Siblings and Pune 04 Picture, Baby Do Die Do follows Baby Karmarkar (Huma Qureshi), a deaf and mute contract killer in Mumbai who leads a double life while seeking revenge for her twin sister's childhood murder. The film also features Sikander Kher and Chunky Panday in pivotal roles
Baby Do Die Do is the first production from Saleem Siblings, the production company Huma co-founded to develop bold, original stories. After years in front of the camera, Huma is increasingly taking control of the kinds of stories she wants to tell—and helping create them herself.
Her feature Toxic recently debuted on Netflix, she can currently be seen in Season 3 of Delhi Crime, and her film Bayaan was selected for both TIFF and the Busan International Film Festival. She was also honored with the Face of Asia Award at the Marie Claire Asia Star Awards.
U.S. audiences will also recognize Huma from Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead and Gurinder Chadha’s Viceroy’s House, while her breakthrough Gangs of Wasseypur premiered at Cannes and launched a career that has made her one of India’s most compelling performers.
