Exclusive: Author/ Screenwriter Colleen Hoover & director Michael Showalter talk Verity
Hitting theaters on Oct. 2 from Amazon MGM Studios is the pychological thriller Verity, directed by Michael Showalter from a script written by Colleen Hoover. The film is adapted from the novel of the same name.
The film stars Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett with Ismael Cruz Córdova, Brady Wagner, Irina Dvorovenko, K.K. Moggie, and Michael Abbott Jr.
Lowen Ashleigh (Dakota Johnson) is a writer in need of work when she is contacted by Jeremy Crawford (Josh Hartnett). Jeremy's wife is the bestselling author Verity Crawford (Anne Hathaway), and due to a mysterious accident, she is unable to finish her successful book series. Jeremy asks Lowen to complete the series, and while working on it, she discovers a manuscript that raises questions on Verity's psychological well being and possible links to her publications.
Showalter previously directed The Baxter, Hello My Name is Doris, The Big Sick, The Lovebirds, The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Spoiler Alert, The Idea of You, and Oh What Fun recently.
