Exclusive: F1 The Movie interviews with Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Joseph Kosinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer
Hitting theaters on june 27 from Warner Bros, Apple Studios, and F1 is the car racing film F1 The Movie, starring Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, with Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Javier Bardem, Sarah Niles, plus Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, and lots of F1 drivers and team members as themselves.
Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), a Formula One driver who raced in the 1990s, has a horrible crash, forcing him to retire from Formula One and start racing in other disciplines. A Formula One team owner and friend contacts Hayes and asks him to come out of retirement to mentor rookie prodigy Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris) on the Apex Grand Prix team (APXGP).
The film was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman, Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Lewis Hamilton, and Kosinski.
Idris broke onto the scene with his acclaimed role in the FX series Snowfall, where he played Franklin Saint for six seasons. He also played the co-lead in Netflix's 2021 sci-fi action film Outside the Wire.
Kerry Condon is set to play the role of the APXGP Technical Director, who strikes up a romance with Pitt’s Sonny Hayes. She also received an Oscar nomination and a BAFTA win for her role in The Banshees of Inisherin.
