Exclusive: Jermaine Fowler talks Night Patrol and working with Ryan Prows, RJ Cyler, CM Punk

Hitting select theaters on January 16 from RLJE Fiilms & Shudder is the thriller Night Patrol, directed by Ryan Prows and starring Jermaine FowlerJustin LongRJ CylerFreddie GibbsCM PunkYGFlying LotusDermot MulroneyJon Oswald, and Nicki Micheaux. The film premiered at 2025 Fantastic Fest & Beyond Fest.

Carr, an LAPD officer with past ties to gang life, returns to duty in his old neighborhood. While partnered with Hawkins, Carr reconnects with his brother Wazi, who just witnessed the brutal murder of his girlfriend.

Under pressure, Wazi claims the Night Patrol is responsible. The accusation makes him a target, and Hawkins is sent to kill him as part of his initiation. After Hawkins spares Wazi, choosing to deliver a warning before walking away, he’s summoned to a remote warehouse for his formal induction into the Night Patrol—where the terrifying truth behind the task force and its grip on the community is finally revealed. Wazi, Carr, their mother, and local gang leaders join forces to fight the malevolent task force...

Fowler is best known for his role in Superior Donuts. Recent credits include Prime Video’s Ricky Stanicky FX’s A Murder at the End of the World, and the Paramount+ comedy series Crutch opposite Tracy Morgan. He also had a recurring role on the upcoming fifth season of Hulu's hit comedy series Only Murders in the Building and will headlining Prime Video’s new Barbershop series.
