Hitting Netflix on January 16 is the action thriller The RIP, directed by Joe Carnahan and starring Ben Affleck & Matt Damon. Written by Carnahan from a story by Joe Carnahan & Michael McGrale., the cast also includes Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, Sasha Calle, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Scott Adkins, and Kyle Chandler.
Starring friends Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, Joe Carnahan's film The Rip follows a team of Miami cops who have discovered millions in cash in a derelict stash house. Soon, the trust between them begins to erode, especially once outside forces learn about the size of the seizure. Everything is called into question — including who they can rely on.
Produced by Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Dani Bernfeld, & Luciana Damon thru their production company Artists Equity, this the second film under the banner since Air, which starred Matt and Ben. The duo won Oscars for Best Original Screenplay in 1998 for Good Will Hunting.
Sandino Moreno gained recognition for her leading titular performance in Maria Full of Grace (2004), which earned her a Best Actress Oscar nomination. She was last seen in Ballerina opposite Ana de Armas.
Calle is best known for her breakout role as Supergirl in the DC Studios pic The Flash. She was also recently seen in On Swift Horses.
Carnahan is the director of action movies Blood Guts Bullets & Octane, Narc, Smokin' Aces, The A-Team, The Grey, Stretch, Boss Level, Copshop, and Shadow Force previously.
