Exclusive: Lana Condor and Ross Butler talks Tubi's Worth The Wait

Streaming on Tubi on May 23 in celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is the new romantic comedy, Worth The Wait, starring and executive produced by Lana Condor and Ross Butler. Directed by Tom Shu-Yu Lin from a script written by Maggie Hartmans, the cast also includes Andrew Koji, Sung Kang, Elodie Yung, Karena Lam,  Ali Fumiko Whitney, Ricky He, Kheng Hua Tan and Yu-Beng Lim.

In Seattle, a rideshare to the hospital fatefully brings together Kai (Ross Butler), Teresa, Nathan, and Curtis. Kai meets Leah (Lana Condor) upon arrival and immediately becomes smitten. The two have a magical first date, but because Kai lives in Malaysia, they must attempt a long-distance relationship.

Meanwhile, Teresa and Nathan have a stillbirth, to their devastation. They grieve, seek healing, and eventually try to conceive again. Curtis has been busy raising his high school niece, Riley, who is in love with Blake. The teens inspire Curtis to give dating another chance while they navigate the realities of young romance.

Across town, famous actress Amanda discovers that her new director is none other than her former fiancé, Scott, whom she hasn’t seen in a decade. They confront the persistent “what ifs” of their prior relationship and whether time has truly changed who they are.

Best known for starring in the hit franchise To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before for Netflix, Condor has also previously been seen in films like Moonshot, Alita: Battle Angel, Patriots Day and X-Men: Apocalypse. She also voiced the title role in DreamWorks’ animated film Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken.

Known for portraying Super Hero Eugene in Warner Bros’ Shazam! films, Butler appeared in multiple installments of the To All the Boys franchise and has also been seen on series like Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens, Riverdale and 13 Reasons Why.
