Frank, serving a life sentence, takes a prison job caring for aging inmates with Alzheimer’s and dementia. What begins as a self-interested bid for parole becomes a profound, transformative bond with fellow inmate Louis, offering Frank a glimpse of redemption in an unforgiving place.
In prison for murder, Frank (Kingsley Ben-Adir) accepts a post caring for fellow inmates in the hopes of winning parole. He’s assigned to frail, paranoid Louis (Rob Morgan), a once-feared inmate with early-onset dementia. Frank gradually wins his trust, but is soon confronted with his own memories and regrets.
Morgan is perhaps best known for playing Turk Barrett in Netflix’s Marvel TV series Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders. Most recently, he played the series regular roles of McNab in the Peacock horror series Teacup and Earvin Johnson Sr. in HBO’s Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty. His additional small screen credits include Taylor Sheridan’s Lawmen: Bass Reeves, Netflix’s Stranger Things, and a recurring role on the beloved NBC series This Is Us.
Morgan was nominated for Best Male Lead at the Independent Spirit Awards in 2019 and awarded a Special Jury Award for his lead turn in the film Bull, directed by Annie Silverstein. His other film credits include the critically acclaimed features Mudbound, The Last Black Man in San Francisco, and Just Mercy.
