Exclusive: Rhea Seehorn on the success of her post-apocalyptic sci-fi Apple TV series Pluribus
Currently playing on Apple TV+ is the sci-si series Pluribus, hailing from writer and director Vince Gilligan, the creator of “Breaking Bad” and co-creator of “Better Call Saul,” and starring Rhea Seehorn, who earned two Emmy nominations for her performance on “Better Call Saul,”
Already picked up for a second season, “Pluribus” is a genre-bending original in which the most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness. The series has been nominated for two Golden Globe Awards and two Critics' Choice Awards.
In addition to Seehorn, the series stars Karolina Wydra and Carlos Manuel Vesga, and guest stars Miriam Shor and Samba Schutte.
Pluribus follows Albuquerque author Carol Sturka, who is one of only 13 people in the world immune to the effects of the "Joining", an event in which an extraterrestrial virus transformed the rest of humanity into a peaceful and content hive mind known as the "Others".
The hive mind happily accommodates the wishes of those who remain unaffected, but admits that it will ultimately seek to assimilate them when it figures out how to do so. Carol is adamantly against their efforts as she searches for a way to reverse the Joining
