Pretty Vee and Tristan Mack Wilds To Lead Newest Feature ‘Funny Feelings’ By RodFather Productions
RodFather Productions will soon release its its highly anticipated follow-up: Funny Feelings, a romantic comedy about the messy, magnetic line between friendship and romance. This hilarious modern love story was created by Roderick McClure and Morgan Kokaram, and produced by Roderick McClure, founder of RodFather Productions and Joshua Ferrell.
Funny Feelings is Directed by NAACP Image Award nominee/award-winning filmmaker Rhonda Baraka (Mistletoe & Matrimony and Bobbi Kristina).
Funny Feelings boasts a seasoned cast led by Pretty Vee (Rap Sh!t, Wild’n Out) as Zoey, and Tristan Mack Wilds (Both Eyes Open, The Wire) as Nick. Their on-screen chemistry drives the emotional core of the film, balancing comedic timing with heart.
At its heart, Funny Feelings is about two best friends and comedy partners whose connection is complicated, magnetic, flirtatious, and emotionally loaded. Their on-stage chemistry becomes more than a punchline when a streaming deal, lingering romantic feelings, and a viral onstage meltdown forces their bond into the public eye. Behind the viral bits lies a tangled mess of mixed signals, missed timing, and feelings neither of them will fully acknowledge. As they navigate fans’ obsession with their ambiguous relationship, Nick and Zoey are forced to confront what’s funny, what’s real, and what’s just been for the bit.
The supporting cast includes Terri J. Vaughn (The Steve Harvey Show, Insecure, Miss Governor), Danielle LaRoach (A House Divided, Zatima), Etienne Maurice (Mistletoe & Matrimony) Kinyumba Mutakabbir (Diarra from Detroit, STAR) gospel star Pastor Mike McClure Jr. (Stellar Award-winning artist and pastor) comedian B. Simone, DaSan Frazier, and Chadwick Farley.
Together, this ensemble brings a rich mix of stage presence, comedic edge, and emotional depth, essential ingredients for a film that leans equally into laughter and longing.
“My goal for this movie was to revisit the classic black rom coms of the late 1990s and early 2000s — movies like “Love Jones,” “The Best Man,” and “Love and Basketball” — all memorable for their strong leads and great ensembles. All beloved for introducing us to endearing characters who were charming, funny and relatable. Our cast, led by Pretty Vee and Tristan Wilds, pulls it off effortlessly,” says Director, Rhonda Baraka.
Penned by screenwriter Je’Don Holloway-Talley. Executive Producers are Roderick McClure, Morgan Kokaram and Joshua Ferrell.
Filmed entirely on location in Atlanta, Funny Feelings taps into RodFather’s signature blend of bold storytelling, culturally grounded narratives, and breakout performances. Principal photography and filming wrapped mid-September 2025, positioning the film for an early 2026 rollout.
“Funny Feelings” is the story we didn’t know we needed. It’s raw, hilarious, and deeply human,” says Roderick McClure, founder of RodFather Productions. The production previously released the thriller Both Eyes Open, starring Gail Bean.
